The BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9105 is a lot more compact (108x50x13mm weighing 93g) than other models due to its use of a standard keypad as opposed to the full QWERTY keyboard found on most other BlackBerry’s.
It features the same excellent track-pad used on the latest Curve and Bold handsets and to compensate for the lack of a QWERTY keyboard, the BlackBerry Pearl 3G white uses “Sure Type” predictive text that “intelligently” learns the words you use most, along with the excellent email integration you can expect from any BlackBerry. The TFT screen has good resolution at 360×400 pixels and 256k colours. The camera has a resolution of in 3.2 megapixels and features a built in LED flash, 2.5x digital zoon, auto focus and a video recording function. The internal memory of 256MB can be expanded to 32GB with a microSD card. The BlackBerry Pearl 3G White has dedicated media keys, iTunes synchronisation, a 3.5mm (headphone) audio jack and a loudspeaker. You can also listen to music via a mono or stereo bluetooth headset. The media player can deliver up to 30 hours of playback from a single battery charge.
The BlackBerry Pearl 3g 9105 White supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, microUSB v2.0, a voice memo recorder and organiser. For those that tend to call and text more than they email, then the BlackBerry Pearl 3g white offers an excellent alternative to the QWERTY style layouts offered by the BlackBerry Curve 8520 and BlackBerry Bold 9700. The trackpad used on the newer BlackBerry phones really is good, it makes using these handsets very easy.
Apparently the BlackBerry Pearl 3g 9105 is also available in Pink, Red and Purple, though none of these colours have been released in the UK to date.
